About The Summit Bechtel Family National Scouting Reserve:
In 2009, the BSA purchased 10,600 acres of property adjacent to West Virginia’s New River Gorge National River area in order to create the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The Summit is the new home of achievement, adventure, and innovation in Scouting. With world-class facilities and a focus on outdoor action sports.  Participants will have the chance to do.  Whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing and bouldering, and mountain biking are just a few of the activities offered at the Summit. There’s also skateboarding, BMX, shooting sports, and zip-line challenge courses. And that’s just the beginning.   There are Merit badges, Arena shows with professional headline bands, exhibits, and much more.  For more information, go to the Summit website atwww.summitbsa.org/events/jamboree/overview/

About the Greater Yosemite Council Contingent:
The Council is sending 1 Troop of 36 boys and 3 leaders as well as 1 Venture Patrol of 6 Venturers and 2 leaders.  The cost is $2500 per person.  The fees include transportation, meals, lodging, The pre jamboree tour of Washington DC and the Jamboree itself.

What if I can’t Afford to go?
If a family, troop or Crew has interested boys, but they are concerned about the fees the council is offering a special program.  If a family can provide a minimum of $500 to attend the Jamboree, and they are willing to Actively Participate in Fundraising, the council is offering a fundraising program that will allow the Scout or Venturer to raise the remaining $2,000.
