HIGH ADVENTURE TEAM

ADVANCED

WINTER AWARENESS COURSE

February 21-22, 2015 - OUTDOOR Session - 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM Saturday, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Sunday

Location: Kirkwood area (more information to follow later)

Cost:  $15 if paid by Tuesday, February 17th -- $20 thereafter.

This outdoor training session covers:

Trek Planning / Winter back country travel & ethics /How to stay warm /

What to do if ... / Weather / Equipment / Wilderness first aid /

Map & Compass / Snow shelters /

Food planning, packaging & cooking / Where to trek /

Patches and awards / Stoves & fuel / And much more!

This training is appropriate for

  • 1st Class and above Scouts who are 13 or older
  • All Venturing Scouts
  • All adult volunteers
  • New-to-camping-in-the-cold Scoutmasters and Senior patrol Leaders

Attendees should have taken the Basic Winter Awareness course in January.

Cancellation Policy
All fees are non-refundable but may be either transferred to another registrant or transferred to a future training event (to be used within the 12 months following this event). Please direct all questions/concerns to the Council (209) 545-6320.
