Scouting offers year-round age-based programs

Cub Scouting is a family – and home-centered program designed for young boys. Parents, leaders and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.  Currently, Cub Scouting is the largest of the BSA’s three membership divisions.

·         Tiger Cubs encourages the ethical decision-making skills for first-grade (or 7-year-old) boys. These boys participate in the program with their adult partners. The program emphasizes shared leadership, learning about the community, and family understanding.

·         Cub Scouts develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the second through fifth grade (8-10 years old). Activities emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.

·        Webelos Scouts are  fourth and fifth grade (or 10-year-old) boys. Webelos participate in more advanced activities that begin to prepare them to become Boy Scouts.

Boy Scouting is meant to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship and personal fitness training for young men.

·         Boy Scouts is a program for young men ages 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.

·         Varsity Scouts. An active, exciting, program for young men 14 through 17 built around five program fields of emphasis: advancement, high adventure, personal development, service, and special programs and events.

Venture Scouts is a program for young men and women who are 14 through 20 (must have completed the 8th grade). Its aim is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.  Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community.  The result is a program of exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help them pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills.
