I have had the pleasure of working for the Boy Scouts of America for 21 years.  I sometimes hear volunteers lament that “the council is too concerned with numbers,” or “Scouting is just a numbers game!”  The reality is that we live in a world that is defined by numbers.

Sierra Valley District Roundtable

We had a great Valley Roundtable meeting on August 8. The theme of the meeting was the Fall Kickoff of the Scouting program in the district. Best practices for Fall recruitment nights were pointed out by Steve Olson, our District Executive. The importance of “boy talks” in front of recruitment nights was stressed and a number of hands-on techniques for recruitment were discussed.
